This is the dramatic moment the Coast Guard rescued a sailor drifting at sea after his yacht capsized.

The U.S. Coast Guard from Air Station Clearwater, using the MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter, received a May Day call prompting them to immediately save the distressed man from the choppy ocean during Hurricane Helene in Gulfport, Florida, on September 27.

Footage shows rescuers hoisting the victim, who was then transported to safety at Albert Whitted Airport in St. Petersburg, where medical personnel assessed him.

The individual reportedly did not sustain any injuries.

Hurricane Helene killed more than 100 people and caused damage to roads and bridges, as well as severe flooding from Florida to Virginia.

Forecasters said that the estimated casualties range from 15 billion USD (approximately 11.25 billion GBP) to more than 100 billion USD (75 billion GBP), as electricity supplies, water systems, and communications were affected.
