US, Los Angeles: Hesperia Silver Fire On Highway 173
Los Angeles, United States - September 29, 2024
09/29/2024 04:00 pm (GMT-0800) | Hesperia – Just before 3 p.m., San Bernardino County Fire responded to the backside of Silverwood Lake on Highway 173 for a fast-moving brush fire.
The fire, dubbed the "Silver Fire," was reported at one acre and quickly grew to over 5+ acres. Per Air attack, the fire was making a run towards homes at a dangerous speed. However, fire crews gained control of the blaze quickly, and the forward progress was stopped.
Per Watchduty.org Reporter:
“Fire is now 5 to 10 acres in brush transitioning to grass with a moderate to dangerous rate of spread, per air attack. 2 additional tankers and a total of 3 copters requested.”
By late afternoon, the fire was reported to be fully contained.
