Cedar Key, United States - September 29, 2024

Hurricane Helene, one of the strongest hurricanes on record in the Big Bend region of Florida, has left at least 64 dead and millions of people without electricity in the southeastern United States, CNN reported. The storm made landfall last Thursday and affected Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas and Virginia, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. In North Carolina, one of the hardest hit areas, Helene turned neighborhoods into lakes and lifted cars like they were toys. In total, more than 60 deaths have been reported in five states: North Carolina with 11 deaths, South Carolina with 24, Georgia with 17, Florida with 11 and Virginia with one.
