This is the dramatic moment hero teachers rushed to save children from a wild cobra that slithered across a nursery floor.

The pre-school teachers were tidying the classroom while the kids were having an afternoon nap when they spotted the snake in the corner beside the door in Chaiyaphum, Thailand on September 26.

CCTV footage shows the alert instructors Chompoonuch Rakmanee and Supaksorn Srikrang pulling sleeping mats with youngsters on away from the deadly reptile.

They put a chair to shield the youngsters against the serpent while multi-tasking to keep the confused children from moving near the snake.

They then rushed to take a broom and push the serpent out of the room, keeping all the kids under their care safe and unharmed.

Teacher Supaksorn said: ‘It was a cobra, so we knew how dangerous it could be. The snake entered the room when the door was opened. We
were scared but we rushed to keep the kids safe. The children are our priority, so we had to put them first before our own safety.'

The serpent slithered away and it was reported to authorities afterwards. It has not been seen since.

Cobras are one of the world's deadliest snakes - with enough venom in a single bite to kill an adult in under an hour.

Despite the larger cobras being more intimidating, younger beasts are actually more dangerous as they have not yet learned how to regulate the amount of toxins released when they bite - often resulting in more fatal liquid being injected than is needed.
