Heart-Stopping Moment: Whale Surfaces Beneath Boat in Mossel Bay, South Africa!
We were anchored on a dive boat, waiting for the divers, when a pair of Southern Right whales approached with curious grace. One of them, a bit too inquisitive, disappeared beneath us. In a split second, it erupted back to the surface right under the engines, startling itself and us! It slapped its tail in surprise, sending a thrill of adrenaline through the boat. Thankfully, everyone onboard—including the whale—was just fine. I found myself checking on everyone, nervously and repeatedly saying, “OK?” This was, without a doubt, my closest and most unforgettable whale encounter!
