Stricken cargo vessel MV Ruby was seen anchored closer to the UK off Kent this afternoon (October 1).

The controversial bulk carrier is loaded with 20,000 tonnes of ammonium nitrate on board and was seen anchored approximately 15 miles offshore of Margate.

The ship was originally anchored 18 miles offshore, but after refuelling on Sunday evening (September 29) has now moved closer inshore due to bad weather.

Tug Kamarina was spotted near the vessel and according to Dover Strait Shipping Facebook page is expected to tow the vessel - which has a damaged rudder and cracked hull - once the weather improves.
