Stranded French tourists were rescued from a hillside in Italy.

The two women were injured and became stuck on the treacherous Amalfi Coast trail in Agerola on September 30.

Authorities were alerted to the walkers' situation, prompting them to dispatch an elite helicopter unit, Drago 71 immediately.

Footage shows rescuers airlifting the victims to safety. They were checked by a doctor and sent on their way.

Last month, two separate incidents of stranded hikers were also successfully rescued.

Authorities advise hikers to be vigilant, not to stray too far, and to take precautions when hiking to prevent injuries or becoming stranded.

The Amalfi Coast trail, also known as the Path of the Gods, has always been popular due to its breathtaking scenic views and challenging terrain, which attract thousands of visitors each year.
