This is the heroic moment two motorists saved a blind woman who had wandered onto a busy road in China.

The dashcam footage, captured in the port city of Ningbo, Zhejiang province, on Friday, September 20, shows the woman walking with a cane straight down the middle of the road.

Motorists honk at her, but she appears to have lost her bearings while crossing a zebra crossing, with the situation made even more dangerous by road barriers dividing the traffic in both directions.

The man, identified as Mr Chen, who was driving the car filming the incident, stopped and got out to help her. Another motorist joined him to guide the woman away from danger.

Mr Chen said: 'She was crossing the zebra crossing from left to right when the light was green, but she did not walk to the other side of the road during the green light.

'According to netizens, there are navigation systems specially designed for the blind, and she may have deviated from the navigation system and was stranded in the middle of the road, but she mistakenly thought she had reached the other side of the road.'

He said that he had not realised that the woman was blind at first, but then he noticed her cane and sprung into action.
