Tiger mauls Indian man who stopped to go to toilet in bushes
A tiger mauled an Indian man who stopped to go to the toilet in the bushes.
Footage shows terrified residents shouting and running in a remote village in Pilibhit, northern India, on September 23. Panic quickly spread among them following the beast's attack on the man, who was reportedly peeing.
In the video clip, the distressed victim is seen with blood on his arms and his white sando. The unexpected attack left him with severe wounds, prompting a rush to the hospital for urgent medical treatment.
The reported absence of forestry authorities at the scene adds to the tension, leaving residents feeling vulnerable and unprotected.
Just 80 kilometres from the attack site is a tiger reserve, which raises questions about the aggressive feline's origins.
It remains unclear whether the tiger wandered in from the reserve or has always been a resident of the area.
The villager is recovering from his injuries as the community grapples with the aftermath of the attack.
A Pilibhit Police spokesman said: 'On receiving the information, Madhotanda police station immediately reached the spot and admitted the injured to CHC Puranpur for treatment. Necessary action is being taken in advance by the forest department and police team.'
