Major bust! Airport customs seize gold worth USD 74,348 concealed in vacuum cleaner in northern India

In a significant incident in northern India's Delhi, customs officials recovered 931 grams of gold valued at USD 74,348 ( Rs. 64.27 lakhs) concealed in a vacuum cleaner.

The incident took place at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi district on September 25.

Visuals showed the customs officials skillfully removing the concealment from the vacuum cleaner and extracting the gold by tapping it out, showcasing their expertise in detecting hidden contraband.

According to reports, the gold was seized from an Indian national arriving from Bahrain, based on spot profiling by customs authorities. The passenger has been arrested under the Customs Act of 1962, and further investigation is currently underway.
