This is the moment an electrician fixed power lines while Typhoon Krathon battered Taiwan this morning.

The worker was standing on a cherry picker crane while he repaired the electricity issues on one of the posts during the storm in Linqiu, Pingtung County, on October 2.

Footage shows the man braving the driving wind and rain being lifted by the vehicle next to the broken strain insulator.

Onlooker Ed Lin said: 'There was a power outage. When I went out to buy some supplies, I saw the electrician rushing to fix it despite the strength of the storm.'

Typhoon Krathon displaced 77,000 individuals in the Philippines. It has now landed in Taiwan, with one person dead, two missing individuals, and 70 injuries reported. The country has grounded thousands of flights and closed schools as the typhoon affects its regions.

Authorities advise residents to stay at home and avoid the sea.
