In a dramatic turn of events, the raging Lago Fire, which had threatened to engulf parts of the Angeles National Forest, has been significantly subdued by the heroic efforts of local firefighters. Firefighters from Angeles National Forest reported that forward progress of the fire has been completely stopped. Their swift and strategic intervention has held the fire to a contained area of 25 acres, achieving a commendable 50% containment. The critical area from Lake Hughes Road to Dry Gulch has been closed off by the California Highway Patrol's Newhall unit to ensure public safety and facilitate firefighting operations. These road closures are expected to remain in place until full containment and safety assessments are completed.
