Taal Volcano's steam-driven explosion creates massive plume over crater
Timelapse footage shows Taal Volcano releasing steam before erupting in the Philippines on October 2.
The plume built up over the crater before a debris, smoke, and gas explosion followed in Batangas province.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology issued an advisory stating that a series of minor activities has been observed since October 1.
Officials at the Phivolcs organisation added that a total of 17 volcanic events had been recorded since September 22.
