The Maize crop late harvesting, Wet summer, Fields Farmed since Bronze to be built upon Nansledan Valley, Newquay cornwall UK
As the Duchy of Cornwall Nansledan development progresses, these fields will soon be built upon. From archaeological digs close by it is known that the land has been farmed from at least the Bronze Age. Here A Maize crop much delayed by the wet UK summer is finally brought in. Maize better known as corn on the cob is mainly used for animal feed in the UK. The crop is currently worth about £160 per ton. The poor growing conditions in the UK for grain and other crops this year will result in the need for more imports. The skilled workers here, make short work of harvesting, clearing acres of Maize in a few hours.
