Russia: Car crashes into pole to avoid hitting lucky child on scooter
Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia, Russia - September 19, 2024
[Note: no sound]
This is the heart-stopping moment when a car crashes into a pole to avoid hitting a child on a scooter that wanted to get to the playpark.
The incident occurred in a residential area on Alexander Nevsky Avenue in Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia, Russia, on the 19th of September.
The footage shows a boy on a scooter on the side of the road waiting for the flow of moving cars to end so that he could cross the road.
However, the video shows that this place is not intended for crossing the road; there is no zebra crossing and no signs.
After letting a couple of cars pass, the boy pushes off with his foot and starts riding his scooter on the road.
At that moment, the car drives towards the boy at full speed. However, the driver manages to react instantly.
The driver swerves the car to avoid hitting the boy and crashes into a street lamp post stuck between it and a tree.
The boy, who was terrified at the near accident, first fell off the scooter and then tried to run away.
But the driver and the passenger got out of the car, stopped the boy and forced him to stay with them until further circumstances were clarified.
At the moment, there is no information about the damage to the car or whether there were any consequences for the boy and his parents.
