The world's last seagoing paddle steamer visited two historic Thames Estuary forts off Kent, UK this afternoon (October 3).

Waverley was packed out after picking up passengers from Whitstable harbour for the trip out to the defensive forts.

The distinctive vessel was seen with the iconic Red Sands Towers & Shivering Sands Towers - designed by engineer Guy Maunsell to protect London from enemy aircraft - who frequently used the Thames Estuary as their guide towards London back in World War 2.

Footage shows the ship with the Red Sands Towers and was filmed from Warden Bay on the Isle of Sheppey.
