This is the shocking moment a jet of flames burns a little boy's hand after he puts a key into a bike charger socket.

The father acknowledged that the boy likes to play with keys and did not realise the child might try to stick one inside the socket when left alone with the vehicle while he went inside to get a cigarette in Zhangzhou, Fujian province, China, on September 26.

His wife, the boy's mother, Miss Ouyang, said: 'My husband asked our son to put the keys in the house and didn't notice when he didn't do it immediately.'

The boy briefly sits on a ledge before running over and inserting the key into the electric charger socket, causing a jet of flame to erupt from the device and burn his hand.

He then runs to his father, crying, who quickly realises what has happened as he picks up the boy.

He uses a stick to remove the key, then puts the boy's hand in cold water before taking him inside to treat the injury.

Later footage showed that the boy's finger had turned black and was blistered as a result of the accident, but the parents said that after the skin started to peel off, it appeared to be getting better.
