This is the terrifying moment when two schoolchildren are sent flying after being slammed by a speeding car while trying to use a zebra crossing.

The incident occurred at the intersection in Nizhnevartovsk, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (Yugra), Russia, on 3rd October.

Police footage shows a traffic light where the green light comes on for cars and a boy and a girl running across the zebra.

The driver filming the video noticed the children in time and did not start moving the car.

However, the car on the right was speeding down the road and hit the children, sending them flying before they finished the crossing.
The cars stopped, and the drivers ran out to check on the children lying on the asphalt and help them.

The images were obtained from the State Traffic Inspectorate of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (Yugra), Russia, and a statement saying: "In Nizhnevartovsk, two pedestrians were hit.
