This is the dramatic moment a rescue team revived a stray cat that was zapped on an electric transformer.

Residents called the volunteers after finding the moggie trapped on the ledge of a condominium in Samut Prakan, Thailand, at around 8 pm on October 3.

Video shows the feline perched precariously near electric cables as officers tried to coax it to come down. However, it leapt onto a transformer box and was electrocuted, causing a loud explosion that rattled onlookers.

It dropped 16 feet and was convulsing on the pavement.

Rescuers performed CPR to revive the injured stray that had temporarily stopped breathing. It regained consciousness after two minutes, and was rushed to a nearby vet hospital.

Rescue volunteer Natthapong Bootnoi said: 'We kept pumping its heart and giving it oxygen until it woke up. The cat is doing better now, but its fur was still burnt and stiff. There are no burn wounds on its body. It looks like it temporarily died from the electric shock.'
