Former Slovak ambassador to China, Dusan Bella, spoke positively about China's rapid development during a recent interview with Xinhua.

"In China I have great admiration.
In those early years of the People's Republic of China, you were a poor country. For me, the (China-) Czechoslovakia friendship farm (Zhongjie Friendship Farm, now Zhongjie Industrial Park) is an example.
At the end of 1956, the former Czechoslovakia provided China with the help of around 700 (sets of) agricultural machinery, like tractors, harvesters, which were sent with expertise to (the farm) to help your country to start developing.
At that time there was nothing. Now there are (around 90,000) people at Zhongjie (Industrial Park), with multiple universities, with a lot of companies and industries.
You embrace this change, that's why I have great admiration for your country and for your people.
And I am sure you will advance with this excellence, setting excellent examples to other countries in Asia and developing great friendship and cooperation with countries around the world."
