In an unusual morning call, the Bedford Police and Fire Departments sprang into action on Thursday, October 3, following reports of a moose taking an impromptu dip in a local swimming pool. The incident, which unfolded at around 8:45 a.m. on Riddle Drive, saw first responders encounter a scenario straight out of the wild.

Upon arrival, emergency crews were confronted with the sight of an adult moose, its massive form awkwardly positioned underneath a pool cover. Without hesitation, the team removed the cover, allowing the creature to navigate its escape from the watery predicament. Fortunately, the moose, likely as bewildered as its human spectators, managed to walk out of the pool unharmed and wandered off, leaving behind a story to tell.

Chief Daniel Douidi commended the community's response to the situation, highlighting the potential dangers associated with such wildlife encounters. "Moose can be very dangerous animals due to their size," he noted, expressing relief that neither human nor animal was harmed in the process.
