Tredozio, Italy - October 04, 2024

In a dramatic rescue operation on the morning of October 4, 2024, firefighters from Rocca San Casciano were called into action in Tredozio, where a cow had fallen into a ravine and was unable to get back up. The emergency unfolded at 9:45 AM when the distress call was made for the trapped animal.

Rushing to the scene, the firefighters, equipped with specialized rescue gear, found the cow in a perilous situation. After a vet assessed the animal's condition, ensuring it was safe to move, the team from the Fire Department's Detachment in Rocca San Casciano proceeded with the delicate operation.

Utilizing an advanced harness designed for such rescues, the firefighters secured the cow. Then, in a highly coordinated effort, the Fire Department's aerial unit from Bologna, with its skilled helicopter team, was deployed. The helicopter carefully maneuvered into position over the ravine, where the cow was hoisted up and away from danger.

The operation, completed with precision and care, saw the cow safely transported to a secure area, away from the cliff's edge. This rescue not only showcases the versatility and readiness of Italy's fire services in handling all forms of emergencies but also highlights their commitment to animal welfare.
