Karni Mata Temple is home to over 25,000 rats. During the Navratri festival, a large number of devotees come here to worship and offer prayers to karni mata and the rats. These rats known as Kabbas, are quite auspicious and care is taken to feed and nurture them.

Consuming food items that have been nibbled on by these rats is regarded as a holy practice here. Karni Mata is believed to be an incarnation of the Hindu goddess Durga. The Karni Mata Temple became their sacred abode, where devotees come to seek blessings and offer prayers amidst these revered rodents.
