Firemen remove huge python wrapped around man's leg
Firemen removed a python that wrapped its body around a resident's leg under a bridge.
The emergency services were called to remove the 13ft beast that was found in a stream near homes in West Java, Indonesia on September 25.
Footage shows rescuer Eko Uban pulling the reptile off a man's limb. The reptile's grip was too tight, but it loosened when its head was secured.
The firefighter helped them carry it out of the water and onto the road, where it was placed in a sack.
Eko said: ‘I was contacted by a resident and went there. It was close to my home. The snake was very aggressive.'
After almost half an hour, the python was captured before Eko took it to their facility to be released.
He added: ‘We always remind locals to be careful in rivers. Snakes are more active and seek new locations during mating season. The heavy rains also drive them to move out of their habitats and look for safer places.'
Deforestation and urbanisation in West Java have significantly reduced the natural habitats of pythons. As forests are cleared for agriculture, settlements, and infrastructure development, pythons lose their natural environment, forcing them to venture closer to human areas in search of food and shelter.
