Metal frames over a concert stage collapsed as performers were set to perform during a wind storm in Thailand.

Footage shows the structure detaching and plunging onto the platform below with terrified dancers and organisers fleeing for safety in Nakhon Phanom, Thailand on October 1.

The Saket Nakhonsil band members were about to walk into the middle when a sudden gust broke the set up.

No one was hurt and the show was eventually cancelled. The audience were given refunds while others opted to watch the show on another day instead.

A concert-goer said: ‘It was really scary. Thank God everyone was safe.'

The strong winds were followed by a heavy downpour. Organisers remained in the open grounds to pack up while the audience left when the event was cancelled.

Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are at the start of their annual monsoon rainy season, which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms. The rudimentary infrastructure often struggles with the deluge, leading to widespread flash floods.
