This is the terrifying moment a huge blaze engulfed shops at a mall in Indonesia.

Footage shows the inferno ripping through a restaurant in the shopping centre in West Jakarta on October 4.

The DKI Jakarta Fire Department said in a statement: 'The fire originated from one of the cafes on the fifth floor of the building. It is suspected that there was a short circuit in one of the restaurants in the food court.'

Firefighting operations began at 1 pm local time and were completed at 4:20 pm. The fire department said 80 personnel to respond to the blaze that had spread across the mall's fifth and sixth floors.

One person reportedly suffered minor injuries. There were no casualties or serious injuries reported.
