Texarkana, United States - October 02, 2024

In a dramatic turn of events on the evening of October 2, 2024, the Arkansas State Police (ASP) and Texarkana Arkansas Police Department (TAPD) engaged in a high-speed pursuit that concluded with the arrest of a 17-year-old from Texarkana, previously out on bond for a murder charge.

The chase began around 5:30 p.m. near Garland and Jefferson Avenues in Texarkana when ASP, assisting TAPD, spotted the stolen vehicle heading north on Jefferson Avenue. The pursuit escalated as the suspect, driving at speeds of about 95 mph, veered onto Interstate 30. In a risky maneuver near the I-30/I-49 interchange, the suspect attempted to pass another vehicle using the median, resulting in loss of control. The vehicle flipped, landing upside down in the median.

Troopers quickly moved in, apprehending the driver after he received medical treatment at Christus St. Michael Healthcare for injuries sustained in the crash. He was then transported to a juvenile detention center in Pine Bluff.

This young suspect was already under scrutiny, scheduled for trial for the murder of Kendrick Roquemore on September 29, 2023. His recent escapade added charges of Theft of Property and Fleeing to his criminal profile.
