In a remarkable nighttime rescue operation, members of the Civil Guard's GREIM, the Aerial Unit from Huesca, and a medical team from the 061 emergency service successfully saved five kayakers who found themselves stranded on an islet in the River Cinca near Alfantega.

The kayakers, caught in an unforeseen predicament, had spent hours marooned on the small island, unable to navigate back to safety. The rescue operation was launched swiftly, coordinating efforts from the ground and air to ensure the safety of the stranded individuals.

The #GREIM unit, known for their expertise in mountain and river environments, played a pivotal role in reaching the kayakers. Simultaneously, the aerial support from Huesca provided crucial oversight and logistical assistance necessary for a nighttime rescue on the river.

All five individuals were safely evacuated to a nearby road, where, after receiving initial medical checks, they continued on their way unharmed.
