STORYLINE:
Türkiye's automotive exports in September increased by 20.9 percent year-over-year, reaching 3.4 billion U.S. dollars, according to official figures released on Monday.
Data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly indicated that for the first nine months of the year, the industry saw a 5.3 percent increase in exports, totaling 26.9 billion dollars.
Germany remained the top export market, receiving 3.6 billion dollars worth of Turkish automotive goods. Britain followed with 3.2 billion dollars, and France with 3 billion dollars. Italy and Spain completed the top five, with 2.5 billion dollars and 1.8 billion dollars in imports, respectively.
Britain experienced the most significant increase, with a 796.7-million-dollar rise in automotive imports from Türkiye. Other markets that also saw considerable growth included Romania, Italy, Slovenia, and the United States.
The automotive sector plays a vital role in Türkiye's economy, creating tens of thousands of jobs.
