This is the heroic moment the Coast Guard winched two critically ill men from a cruise ship near Hawaii.

Reports indicate that watchstanders at the Joint Rescue Coordination Center Honolulu received a call from personnel aboard the Crown Princess, a Princess Cruises ship, on Friday at 6 pm.

Authorities said they were requesting medevacs for a 70-year-old man reportedly showing heart attack-like symptoms and an 86-year-old man said to be suffering from internal bleeding.

Crew from an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter based at Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point met up with the Crown Princess about 50 miles offshore from Cape Kumukahi on Saturday, October 5, around 9 am.

The aircrew hoisted the 70-year-old man and transported him to Hilo Medical Center. A second Coast Guard crew lifted the 86-year-old patient and transported him to the same facility, where both patients were reported to be in stable condition.
