Chinese auto part makers ramp up production to meet global demand

Chinese auto part makers are seeing a surge in overseas orders as more domestic auto brands make inroads to the global market.
One auto parts maker in east China's Zhejiang Province says they have 60 percent more overseas orders this year compared to last, with an increase in demand from the US, Brazil and some European countries.

Pan Shaobo, General manager, auto part company:
"We are busy with filling orders, which have been scheduled through February, 2025. Compared with the same period of last year, our overseas orders have increased by about 60 percent."

Another factory that produces car body parts said their export revenues account for 70 percent of their total sales, which prompted them to hire more workers this year.

Zhang Hanming, Vice president, auto part factory:
"In the first eight months of this year, our export business increased by 59 percent, compared with the same period of last year. We mainly export to North America, Europe, Japan and South Korea. We have two factories in Shengzhou and the third one will be set up before next June. We also plan to build a new factory in Europe within two to three years.”

Customs data shows that China's auto parts and accessories exports reached more than 62 billion U.S. dollars in the first eight months of this year, an almost 8 percent increase from a year ago.
