Russia: Construction Firm Boss And Five Accomplices Arrested For Kidnapping And Torturing An Employee Who Wanted To Quit
[Note: undated footage]
This is the moment police capture a construction company boss and his accomplices for kidnapping and torturing an employee who wanted to quit his job.
The boss, whose identity was not disclosed, reportedly owned a construction firm based in the city of Petrozavodsk, Russia.
When one of his employees told him he wanted to quit, the owner arranged with five other crooks to kidnap the unnamed victim and take revenge on him for trying to leave.
While plotting the crime they distributed various roles among themselves and in November 2023, three accomplices arrived at the victim's house in the village of Yanishpole, Kondopozhsky District.
They tracked the man down near his home, the criminals attacked him, beat him up, stole his mobile phone and passport, and, threatening him with a gun, dragged him into a car.
In the car, the thuds took the man to the territory of the industrial base of their organisation, located on Kommunistov Street in the city of Petrozavodsk, where the rest of the accomplices were waiting for them.
Demanding that the victim continue to perform his work duties in the company, they burned his right shoulder with a red-hot iron object.
Then they dragged him against his will to an apartment in the city, from where the latter managed to escape and reported the attack to the police.
Police officers eventually identified and arrested all six suspects, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Karelia said in a 2nd October statement.
They are now facing several charges, including kidnapping and aggravated assault.
