This is the hilarious moment a man attempts to look cool using a monkey backfires when it tears off his hairpiece in front of a massive crowd.

The cheeky monkey had climbed onto the man's head at the Qianling Mountain Scenic Area in Guizhou, China, on Tuesday, October 1.

Footage shows the man posing with the monkey on his back as somebody takes a picture, and other people look around and laugh. Suddenly, the animal grabs the man's hair to avoid falling off and unwittingly rips a wig free.

Shortly before the incident, the tourist can be seen bending down and picking up food to get the primate to leave him, but he's too late.

The macaque almost falls to the ground with the wig, but it manages to scramble back onto the man's shoulders as he appears to try to run away from it so that he can recover his earpiece.

A spokesman for the park said that it was best not to encourage the monkeys and not make eye contact with them and added that they are not dangerous unless they feel threatened.

After the incident, the man hurriedly left and decided not to continue his journey up the mountain.
