This is the chaotic moment when brazen youths attacked a police car in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dashcam footage released by Cleveland Police captures a crowd surrounding the police vehicle, jumping on it, and pounding its hood during a street takeover event near the intersection of Lee and Miles on September 28.

The officer can be heard shouting into his radio for backup: 'Hey, I got people jumping on my car. Get me cars up here now!'

The street takeover continued into early Sunday morning, affecting neighborhoods on both the east and west sides and Interstate 90 for about five hours.

In response, the Cleveland City Council is advancing a new ordinance to combat street takeovers. The proposed penalties align with a new state law, which could impose up to six months in jail and fines of up to 1,000 USD for participants.
