Customer shocked by spider in samosa from roadside stall in India
A customer was shocked to find bugs in food from a roadside stall in India.
Footage shows Yash Arora raising his concern with the store clerk in Ghaziabad on the evening of October 6.
He reportedly discovered a spider inside a samosa he bought at Shri Dhara Dairy in Raj Nagar Extension. Yash was taken aback to find a dead arachnid inside it while eating, with chutney dripping over it.
Initially, the store owner denied the allegation, suggesting that a mosquito might have fallen in after the customer had bitten it. However, upon closer inspection, the spider was confirmed to be inside the food. Despite this occurrence, there have been no reports of police involvement.
In another incident, a shopkeeper was arrested in Uttar Pradesh on September 11 after a customer complained of finding frog legs in a samosa he ordered.
On September 24, a centipede was allegedly discovered in food at the luxury Taj Mahal Hotel.
India is notorious for its poor food safety practices, as many street stalls and cheap restaurants prioritise efficiency and profit over hygiene.
The country's food safety regulating body, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, is relatively young and was established in 2006.
