This is the intense moment a quick-thinking sister saved her younger sibling from choking on a piece of candy.

The toddler ran into the living room screaming as she experienced airflow restriction from the sweet she had accidentally swallowed in Hainan, China, on August 22.

CCTV footage shows her elder sister performing the Heimlich manoeuvre. After continuous pats on the back and rapid inward and upward thrusts, the child began to feel better, dislodging the candy from her mouth.

Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any serious injuries from the incident.
