This video shows several bears joyfully scratching their backs against trees in a nature reserve.

Footage recorded at the Nizhne-Svirsky State Nature Reserve, Leningrad Oblast, Russia, depicted the animals using their hind legs to stand up to rub and scratch their backs on 6th October.

They can further be seen shifting their bodies side to side, allowing the rough bark to massage their skin and relieve any irritation.

The scratching reportedly helps them remove loose fur and parasites, while also providing a satisfying sensation.
