India: Shocking daylight assault in northern: Schoolboy beaten after picking up girl from school
Hapur, India - September 28, 2024
[WARNING: (Video contains) violent content]
In a shocking incident in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, a schoolboy faced a brutal attack by miscreants while returning home with a girl.
The incident took place in Hapur district on September 28.
Visuals showed the assailants violently beating the boy on his bicycle and relentlessly chasing him as he tried to escape. The attack unfolded in broad daylight, underscoring the brazen nature of the violence.
According to reports, the video that surfaced on October 9 sparked widespread outrage among viewers. The clip shows a group of men intercepting the boy after he picked up the girl from school. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vineet Jaiswal clarified that, contrary to claims circulating online about a religious dispute, the incident occurred approximately 10 days ago. He revealed that the girl involved had filed an FIR against the boy, identified as Akram, alleging luring and rape. The ASP emphasized that the attackers were the girl's brothers, who confronted Akram while he was returning with her from a hotel. Authorities are now pursuing legal action against individuals misrepresenting the video's context and linking it to other incidents in Ghaziabad.
