Tornadoes Tear Through Florida as Hurricane Milton Bears Down: Tractor Trailers Flipped, Trees Uprooted on I-95"
Video filmed by Alan Alvarez on I-95 between Sebastian, FL, and Fort Lauderdale, FL, October 10, 2024.
In a dramatic turn of events, Florida's weather took a dangerous turn as tornadoes swept across Indian River County and Martin County, brought on by Hurricane Milton's powerful outer bands. Video filmed between 2:18 p.m. and 3:20 p.m. shows the terrifying aftermath of these tornadoes along I-95, where trees were snapped in half and tractor trailers were overturned by powerful winds.
In a series of gripping videos shared by Alan Alvarez on X (@acebeendidit), the damage caused by these tornadoes is evident. Alan, driving on I-95, captures the storm's fury, with debris scattered across the highway and vehicles struggling against the wind.
Alvarez wrote, "This weather in Florida isn’t a joke right now, a tornado just passed by us on I-95 in Martin County. Trees snapped in half, and everything... Big tractor trailers getting flipped from the winds in Florida."
The videos serve as a stark reminder of the unpredictable and violent nature of hurricanes and the danger they pose beyond just flooding and storm surges. With more severe weather expected, Florida residents are urged to stay indoors and avoid traveling on highways like I-95 until conditions improve.
