Australia's new head coach said he expects determination and desperation from China in Thursday night's World Cup qualifier.
Tony Popovic told reporters on Wednesday that his side will have to remain calm to beat China in their crucial Asian Football Confederation (AFC) 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match in Adelaide, Australia, on Thursday night.
It will be the first match as head coach of the Socceroos for Popovic, who was appointed to the role following the resignation of Graham Arnold in September.
Australia is currently fifth in Group C of the third round as the Socceroos aim to qualify for a sixth consecutive World Cup.
