India's central bank announced Wednesday that it has kept the repo rate unchanged at 6.5 percent.
Repo rate is the rate at which the central bank lends money to commercial banks in the event of a shortfall of funds.
This was the 10th time in a row that a six-member monetary policy committee has decided to keep the rate unchanged.
After assessing the current and evolving macroeconomic situation, the committee decided to keep the policy repo rate unchanged at 6.5 percent, the bank said in a statement.
Meanwhile, real GDP growth for 2024-25 was projected at 7.2 percent, and real GDP growth for the first quarter of 2025-26 was projected at 7.3 percent.
