SDRF rescues paraglider after he falls into lake during training in northern India
A paraglider trainee, who lost control and plunged into a Lake in northern India’s Uttarakhand, was rescued by the swift action of the SDRF team stationed near the lake.
The incident took place at Tehri Lake near Koti Colony, Tehri Garhwal district on October 10.
Visuals showed during a paragliding training session, a paraglider lost balance mid-air, tumbling toward the shimmering waters of Tehri Lake. The vibrant parachute fluttered helplessly as the paraglider splashed into the lake near Koti Colony. Just as the glider struggled to stay afloat, the SDRF team stationed nearby sprang into action. Their motorboat swiftly sliced through the water, closing in on the scene. Within moments, they reached the paraglider, pulled him onto the boat, and ensured his safe rescue.
The SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) rescue team, led by Chief Constable Rakesh Rawat, was already deployed at the lake as a precautionary measure for the training session. Upon witnessing the fall, they immediately set out on a motorboat to rescue the individual.
The trainee, identified as Rishi, a 26-year-old resident of Nainital, was swiftly reached by the SDRF team. Without delay, they pulled him onto the boat and ensured his safe extraction from the lake. The rescue was conducted efficiently, preventing any further harm to the trainee.
