Swimmers follow shotline to descend during freediving training
Swimmers descended into depths following a shot line during freediving training.
Footage shows the divers gliding downwards trailing a cord pulled by a weight 65ft (20metres) to the bottom in Batangas province, the Philippines on June 2.
Professional mermaid Doherty Katkat Medes said she attended the event to expand her knowledge.
She said: ‘I tried Constant Weight Bi-fins discipline and trained with the others.'
Constant Weight BiFins (CWTB) is a type of freediving where a diver swims down and up using two fins, one on each foot, without holding onto a rope. The diver has to swim both ways using only their fins and cannot drop any weights during the dive.
