Mother spider carries hundreds of babies on her back
A mother wolf spider was seen carrying her babies on her back while exploring a plant in a resident's garden.
Footage shows the adult arachnid with hundreds of offspring clinging to the lower part of her body as she perched on a leaf in Bohol, the Philippines, on August 27.
Local Eugel Suello said: 'It looked bizarre up close. It was my first time seeing it.'
Wolf spiders are known for carrying their spiderlings on their backs. After the eggs hatch, the babies climb onto the mother's abdomen and cling to her. She carries them around until they are ready to live independently, which can take several days to weeks.
