STORYLINE:

As of Thursday, the Horgos highway port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, has recorded over 1 million border crossings this year, hitting a record high.

According to the border inspection authorities, the port sees a daily average of approximately 3,700 people entering or leaving China.
