Officers evacuated dozens of residents stranded in Hurricane Milton floods in Florida, USA.

Footage shows a policeman giving a piggyback ride to a boy stranded at a flooded apartment complex in Clearwater City on October 10.

A Clearwater Police Department spokesman said: 'The conditions were challenging, but our primary concern was the immediate safety of everyone at the complex. We're relieved to have successfully rescued over two dozen so far.'

Hurricane Milton slammed into Siesta Key, Florida as a Category 3 storm on October 9.

It killed at least 17 people in Florida and knocked out power to millions in the state.

Milton struck as residents were still reeling from the effects of Hurricane Helene just two weeks earlier.
