A ring of 'danger' warning buoys was seen being re-instated around a Kent, UK shipwreck this afternoon (October 12).

Vessel Shake Dog was spotted carefully replacing the buoys around the SS Richard Montgomery wreck at the mouth of the Thames, 1.5 miles off Sheerness.

The distinctive bright red buoys with the word 'Danger' written on them warn seafarers not to enter a 250-metre diamond shaped exclusion zone around the wreck - which is monitored 24/7 by authorities - due to the wreck sinking in 1944 with 1400 tonnes of explosives onboard.

The 12 red buoys were removed last November to assist with surveys of the wreck and seabed.
