US, Los Angeles: El Monte Fatal Bar Shooting

10/12/2024 12:11 am (GMT-0700) | EL MONTE, Calif. – El Monte PD and LACoFD responded to the sports bar in the 10700 block of Lower Azusa Road for a gunshot victim inside. Once El Monte PD and LACoFD arrived at the scene, they located a gunshot victim inside the bar. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. It is unknown at this time if El Monte PD has any suspect(s) in custody or if anyone is still outstanding. The bar was open at the time of the shooting. El Monte PD is talking to multiple witnesses who were inside the bar at the time of the shooting. LASD Temple City deputies were at the scene and assisting with street closure on both east and westbound Lower Azusa Road.

NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators are assisting El Monte Police Department regarding a shooting death investigation. The incident was reported Saturday, October 12, 2024 at approximately 12:09 a.m., on the 10700 block of Lower Azusa Road in the city of El Monte.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
