speedboat catches fire in Indonesia, 5 people are found dead.
It is known that a speedboat caught fire at Bobong Harbor, Taliabu Island, today, Saturday 12 October 2024.
Five people reportedly died in this incident. It is known that an explosion occurred when the speedboat captain was refueling at around 14.05 Eastern Indonesia Time.
The fire then grew so big that it forced the passengers to evacuate themselves and jump into the sea. Residents were seen flocking to help the passengers.
"Because when filling up the fuel, the boat's engine, electric stove, AC and generator in the speedboat were on," said Taliabu Island Police Chief, AKBP Totok Handoyo.
As a result of the explosion, four people died, including Ester Tantri, Mudin A. Wahid, Hamdani Buamonabot, Nasrun and Mahsudin Ode Muisi.
