US, Los Angeles: El Monte Pursuit of Stolen Corvette Ends in Crash
Los Angeles, United States - October 11, 2024
10/11/2024 12:00 am (GMT-0700) | EL MONTE, Calif. – San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies were in pursuit of a stolen Chevrolet Corvette in the city of Hesperia.
The suspect led deputies and CHP units on a high-speed pursuit on multiple freeways, reaching 120 mph at times. The suspect was traveling westbound on the 10 Freeway at Fairplex Drive in the city of Pomona, where CHP from the Baldwin Park Area station took over the pursuit.
CHP managed to employ a spike on the Corvette westbound on the 10 Freeway at Vincent Avenue in the city of West Covina. The suspect exited the freeway at Peck Road from the westbound 10 Freeway in the city of El Monte.
The suspect ultimately crashed into the sidewalk and fence at Stewart Street and Peck Road in El Monte. Two suspects were taken into custody and were turned over to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies at the scene.
